Michelle credits mindfulness and yoga with helping her to meet life’s challenges with grace and resilience. She is grateful to be able to share these powerful recources with others.

Michelle Morrison is a mindfulness meditation teacher certified by the UC Berkeley Greater Good Science Center. She has had a personal practice for over twenty years and has taught in private, corporate, and nonprofit settings since 2007. She is also a mindfulness coach, helping individuals use mindfulness and Buddhist wisdom to turn problems into opportunities for growth and healing. With Donald Fleck, she co-founded the Free Friday Mindfulness program and has co-lead the MBCT workshop and daylong retreats.

Mindfulness   

Michelle is a longtime member and facilitator of the Rock Blossom Sangha, which practices in the tradition of Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh. She attended several retreats with Nhat Hanh, including a 21-day retreat at his monastery in Plum Village, France.

In 2019 she completed the two-year Mindfulness Meditation Teacher Certification Program (MMTCP) led by Jack Kornfield, Tara Brach, and other senior Insight Meditation teachers. In this intensive training, she deepened her knowledge of the Buddhist foundations of mindfulness and compassion practice as well as secular forms, applications, and research. She has attended several silent retreats in the Insight tradition.

Yoga

Michelle is a yoga instructor (ERYT-500) who has taught in studio, private, corporate, and university settings since 2004. She is certified by Cyndi Lee (Yoga Body, Buddha Mind), Frank Boccio (Mindfulness Yoga), Jillian Pransky (Deep Listening), and Tari Prinster (Yoga for Cancer). She loves helping students cultivate curiosity, joy, and freedom through body awareness and movement.
